Community
Council?
Conway
Community
Council is a
volunteer
organization
which represents
the Conway area
from Sand Lake
Road on the
south to Orange
Ave. on the west
to Semoran Blvd.
on the east to
Curry Ford Road
on the north.
(The Council
meets once a
month.)
Objectives:
- To
Promote the
interest and
welfare of
residents
&
businesses.
- Provide
a means for
residents
&
businesses
to unite
efforts to
increase
esthetic,
safety and
community
standards.
- To
Provide a
forum for
residents
&
businesses
to discuss
issues and
direct
problems to
the correct
source of
government.
Accomplishments:
- Uniformity
of concrete
poles for
lighting.
- Completion
of phase #2
at Barber
Park
complete
with Roller
Hockey Rink.
- Low
Signage,
neighbor
friendly
lighting,
noise
barriers at
Publix.
- Trees
installed at
Lake
Tennessee to
provide a
light
barrier and
add
beautification.
- Left
turn signal
at Gatlin
Avenue and
Conway Road.
History:
- Reconstituted
in 1999 by
Linda
Stewart.
- Focused
on Conway
Road
construction
issues.
Work
in Progress:
- Landscaping
along Conway
Road.
- Redevelopment
of old Winn
Dixie
shopping
center at
Hoffner
Avenue and
Conway Road.
- Noise
abatement at
Shenandoah
Elementary
School.
